When you are advised to drink plenty of water, they aren’t kidding around at Masada! We started with a 4:30 am wake-up call and set off for Masada at 5:00 am. When I think of the stories in the Bible, this is how I imagined it looked — vast desert, rocky terrain, and lots of sun. What an awesome view on the morning of our hike. There are a few options to ascend Masada — direct path up, the snake path which has a series of switchbacks, or taking the cable car. We opted for the snake path which is the harder trail. Hiking up Masada only takes about 45 minutes but in the heat it can seem longer.
We cooled off at the Dead Sea. The high salinity of the water is what allows one to float in the water. This is me after some floating, a full body mud mask followed by a refreshing rinse!
Well hello little guy, wait…what? You are hot? Me too. Let’s keep each other company.
