I have this picture of my mother from 1976 where she is wearing a coat that I recently re-discovered and claimed for my own wardrobe.  The coat is special not only because it was my mother’s but because my late aunt (my father’s sister) made it for her.  It is a very well tailored coat with a great attention to detail, an original piece.  Even though this coat is from the 70s, the cut and color is very appropriate for today.  It kept me warm on this brisk day as a coat should!

[Side Note: I originally wanted to call this post “My Mother’s Jacket” as a play on the band My Morning Jacket but was afraid people would think I didn’t know the difference between a coat and jacket]
