[Eric Wilson Band prepping @ Wuwu Sushi]
I spent the weekend in Austin where SXSW was already in full swing. While I benefited from the sights and sounds of the festivities, I’d be lying to say it was the main attraction for coming back to my homeland. The real reason was to see family, my adorable nephew, and to take in good ol’ Texas eats. The weather was great, mid-80s all weekend, and everywhere you turned, people were bustling about town. Signs of SXSW were everywhere and whether you are an avid fan or one of the curmudgeons who dreads the influx of out-of-towners, there was something for everyone. Here are some of the highlights of the weekend to spur ideas for your next trip to Austin.
[Jester King Microbrewery Tour and Stanley Farmhouse Pizza for lunch]
[The “Lana” was delicious – mozzerella, fresh basil, and cherry tomatoes]
[Shiner Boch @ Salt Lick BBQ, nothing says Texas like a Shiner…and BBQ]
[While shopping, I spotted these perfumes called United Scents of America, Texas smelled delicious!]
[Some words of wisdom]
[Lastly, a picture of my cute napping nephew, those eyelashes are to die for!]
