I am holding my hand out in anticipation of receiving change for a fiver.  No not really, but it’s a logical reason considering the money I saved by making my own neon pink graffiti dress.  Here’s the back story to this Easy DIY adventure…

The inspiration first came to me after seeing this gorgeous Zimmerman dress in Lucky Magazine.  I loved the bright pink and abstract pattern.  I searched high and low but could not find it for purchase.

I decided to recreate the look by buying a simple white dress and neon pink fabric paint.  I found a great midi white dress on ASOS that I found to have a similar shape – a high waist, higher neckline, scoop back, and full skirt.

The graffiti pattern requires very little artistic skills (thank goodness for my sake).  I poured fabric paint into a small cup and used a paint brush to splatter the dress,  a flick of your wrist is all you need.

The paint also came with a spray nozzle which can be used to create an ombre effect very easily.  Allow the paint to set for 72 hours and turn inside out before washing.

If you don’t fancy pink, try the same dress in black with a splash of neon green or blue.  The options are endless!

    1. I know, I was willing to pay whatever high price and chalk it up to an investment piece but was really sad that I couldn’t find it. If you happen to find it will you let me know? 🙂

  1. I loved this post so much, I included it in my “Link Love” post here -

      1. It is Tulip fabric paint. You can get it online at Wal-Mart or on Amazon. There is a link to Amazon on my post (towards the end, sorry if it is hard to find, I will work on placing it more easily identified place next time).
