Fall means saying goodbye to sandals and “Hello boots!” Oh, how I love boot season and the range of styles offered each year! My current obsession is the ankle bootie, specifically ones with a substantial heel and a “chunkier” form.  When worn with a dress or skirt, the proportion of the ankle bootie to the legs makes your limbs look leaner. How awesome is that?!

Rag and Bone always has wonderful ankle booties. I splurged on the Newbury last season and it’s super comfortable. It was worth the investment but impractical to spend that much on a pair of shoes all the time. So when I discovered the Harrow ($495), I loved the design but didn’t want to break the bank. Enter Sole Society‘s Skylar ($90). The style and details are almost identical to the Harrow at about a fifth of the cost! I ordered a pair in black and am happy to report they are as beautiful as they are wearable.

UPDATE: I found an even lower low cost option since this post was first published.   Check out Forever 21’s faux suede bootie ($34).  It comes up a little higher on the ankle but has the same buckle design and comes in brown and black.

    1. Thanks so much! There are a lot of high-low posts out there but I love each and every one of them. I just get a kick out of finding the same/similar things for a better deal :p

I found an even less expensive option this morning, I will have to update this post and share the wealth.

  1. These are both so adorable. I love them! I have a hiking-boot inspired heel from a few years ago that is lasting quite well, but it would be nice to have a classier ankle version in my closet…
