SEE LARK! | Neon Trays

If diamonds are a girl’s best friend, then trays are an organized person’s trusty sidekick.  Trays are a great way to add a little design to your home while putting order to items that would otherwise seem scattered and in disarray. I love using trays to organize sunglasses, perfume and lotion bottles, and hide loose ends. Lately, neon trays have been making a splash in home decor and I can understand its allure.
With something as simple as a bright color on the bottom, a lucite or acrylic tray can seem to glow with its own light. Like what you see? Here are three ways to incorporate neon trays into your home.

Splurge. Invest in the original and check out the wide range of trays, bowls, and picture frame accents from Alexandra Von Furstenberg. I like trays (and other accents) with some heft and AVF’s line is well made and sturdy.  Prices range from $140 – $330.

DIY.  Surprisingly, I have not found many low cost alternatives (at least not online); however, there are plenty of low priced clear trays. So, get creative and try this quick DIY with neon Sharpie pens – brilliant!

Bargain Hunt. If you enjoy the hunt for new treasures, then put on your shopping shoes (comfortable flats advisable!) and head to stores like TJ Maxx, Marshalls (where I found my dog figurine), or Home Goods. They have such different home decor pieces available from week to week, you never know what you may stumble upon. I found these electric pink/orange trays for $20, a steal compared to AVF!
