SEE LARK! | Organizing Small Things

Lately, I have found myself trying to catch-up on organizing and de-cluttering the house on weekends (not how one should use their free time).  I am amazed on how much stuff piles up, especially in the bedroom like make-up, bobby pins, and other small things that I need put can’t stand have floating around the bathroom or nightstand. With a little ingenuity, I take decorative items and repurpose them to help store and organize all these small things while keeping the room stylish.  Here are some ideas for your next organization project.

Small Dish.  Small plates and dipping dishes are normally meant for the kitchen, but something with a pretty pattern should be out for display. Here, I use this nautical themed dish to hold a variety of lipsticks.

Salt Cellar. I like coarse salt for garnish, but I like the look of salt cellars even more. This marble version with a round shape is perfect to hold sparkly baubles.

Candle Votive. If you are a beauty addict, you probably have a love/hate relationship with samples. You love the free stuff but can’t remember to use them if they are stashed away and get frustrated with it littering your bathroom counter. A great way to have your cake and eat it too, is to put small samples in a candle votive.  A clear one with a textured patterned allows you see what you have in there without being an eyesore.

  1. So cute! love the lipstick one. I have been bringing home milk glass for the small things around the house way too regularly from the flea market lately!

  2. Great ideas! I know how all those small pieces can just pile up in the corner of your bath- or bedroom. Hate it when that happens, so I’m really gonna puts your ideas into action!
