Links à la Mode: The IFB Weekly Roundup

It seems like every year when winter comes along, I can’t stop complaining about the weather. Mentally, I don’t associate March with sleet and freezing rain…ugh.  Needless to say it has left me a little less than enthused to get dressed.  My post on How to Wear Color was a good mental pick-me-up and I am pleased to learn that it has also made IFB’s weekly roundup.  In addition to my tips on wearing color, these top 20 posts of the week also adds inspiration.  I particularly like Inexpensive Chic’s How to Dress Stylishly in the Extreme Cold and Ginger Side of Life’s How to Get That Perfect Bun.  Happy Reading!

Two Years

SEE LARK! | Two Years

Today marks the second anniversary of SEE LARK!  Two years ago, I started this blogging journey wondering if I would sputter out, but it’s been a place that I love to return to and share personal style, shopping, and random musings.  To celebrate, I have made few layout design changes making it easier to search outfit posts and other fabulous topics. I *may* have also purchased some jewelry to commemorate the occasion as well!  Hope you enjoy the improvements and thanks for your support and readership. Continue reading “Two Years”

Links à la Mode: The IFB Weekly Roundup

Last week I wrote a post called Inspiration vs. Imitation which explored the boundaries of borrowing from designs and straight up copying.  I am excited to say that this post made it to the latest IFB Links à la Mode, which represents the top 20 read-worthy fashion/personal style posts of the week.  I wrote it back in January and just sat on it for about eight months.  Part of the hesitation was due to the concern that I may offend someone putting such a topic out there and part of me thought I wouldn’t do the topic much justics.  After much hemming and hawing, I went for it!  The lessons learned here is to share what interests you and that it’s okay to not be an expert on the topic of interest.  Do your research and present the facts in hopes to educate yourself and others.  I hope you have a chance to read it and the 19 other wonderful articles on the list.

Links à la Mode: The IFB Weekly Roundup

IFB continues to be one of my favorite sources for reading up on the business of blogging and finding new blogs to incorporate into my rotation.  It’s how I found beauties like Sannam and Style and Trend Survivor. Thankfully as the workload subsides a bit, I am able to focus and spend some time exploring some great posts from this week’s round-up.  Check out the top 20 links below including my easy DIY to giving your old necklaces new life.

Ivory Tower

An all-white outfit can be intimidating.  Sometimes, all I see are potential stains and an unforgiving color, but with a slight tweak in mindset, I see this look in a different (white) light. Continue reading “Ivory Tower”

I created SEE LARK! with an intent to share fashion, decor, and travel.  It’s been a little over a year since its inception (I quietly celebrated its one-year anniversary in August) and I am still loving every minute of it. For Year 2, I’m making a few improvements to share more content and to better connect with and inspire you to see the pretty things in life.  Here’s a highlight of what is changing. I have been wanting to start my own personal blog for quite some time.  The problem I faced was that I wasn’t sure what I wanted to blog about and whether I could keep it up with my busy work schedule.  The more I thought about it, the more I wanted to push myself to try and see what happens.  So here goes nothing — a chronicle of all things that make me smile, a visual collection of pretty things.
