High Low Jumpsuit

SEE LARK! | High Low Jumpsuit

It took me a long while to get used to the idea of jumpsuits (see me fashion one here).  Now that I am fully on the jumpsuit bandwagon, I have been eyeing a more “mechanical engineer” style.  I am really drawn to this khaki colored version from Madewell.  The zippers speak to me, maybe that’s because it would make it nursing friendly…bonus!  On the other hand, I found a brown/green jumpsuit on Asos which leans more towards the feminine side that I also love. How do you feel about the jumpsuit style? Which would you choose?

Same Denim, Different Day

SEE LARK! | Same Denim, Different Day

As mentioned on Tuesday’s post, I found a pair of jeans to live in for the next few months.  The last look I showcased was dressed down, so now I try to stretch the versatility of my maternity wardrobe by dressing up the same pair of distressed denim. Continue reading “Same Denim, Different Day”

Late Summer

SEE LARK! | Late Summer

As much as I am looking forward to Fall, I am trying to soak up as much of Summer as I can.  Straw hats and short dresses are the epitome of a lazy, “nothing to do”, warm August afternoon.  I choose an all black ensemble.  I know what you are thinking, isn’t that reserved for colder months and New Yorkers?  Noir get-ups can totally work for Summer, just look for lighter fabrics and pieces appropriate for the weather in question (i.e., sandals instead of knee high boots, but you are all smart and probably already knew that!).  This shirt dress was light and airy, perfect for disguising the salad with buerre blanc sance and a side of fries I consumed at lunch.  Oops. SEE LARK! | Vroom Vroom

I’ve got a need for speed.  Well…at least speed as expressed through my clothing. I have a soft spot for soft silk shirts, specifically those made by Equipment. Not only are they high quality but its quirky designs, like these little motorcycles, makes it that much more fun to wear. Naturally, motorcycles call for a leather skirt to match and I was more than happy to oblige. Continue reading “Vroom-Vroom”

I was finally able to put on a dress without tights (daring, I know). I love a good skater dress, it’s figure flattering and allows you swing your skirt to and fro. Choose a dress with a slightly heavier weighted fabric, it’s the perfect material for this transition period that is called April.   Continue reading “Envy”

A Pant for All Seasons

city-1, banana republic, slouchy pants

Wouldn’t you know that after my public proclamation for favoring skirts and dresses that I get into a pants-wearing mood?! Truth be told, I do tend to go for jeans or trousers when I am not at work, anything that allows me to sit cross legged and provides comfort.   On a recent road trip with my hubby, I wore a pair of slouchy pants by Banana Republic.   Continue reading “A Pant for All Seasons”

French Navy

french-navy-1, stripes, french, nautical, layers, streetstyle

The combination of a pea coat and stripes is what I imagine Camera Obscura’s Tracyanne Campbell wearing when she sings “French Navy“. On a cold crisp day, layers are essential so on comes the knit shirt, cardigan, and coat.  I just love how a bright orangey red mixes with leather, studs, and black and white stripes.   Continue reading “French Navy”

Texture and Pattern

Sundays normally means packing for me.  As I prepared for the work week, I threw this combination of lace and print into my suitcase without much thought.  I figured a black top goes with a multicolored skirt, it will work.  When I actually put it on, I realized that the lace in my peplum top added a new dimension to the look that I had not anticipated…and I really liked it.   Continue reading “Texture and Pattern”

From Russia With Love

No, I have never visited Russia.  However, if I did, I imagine there would be a lot of big fur hats worn during the winter.  When the temperature in DC dipped into the low 20s and it started to snow, I grabbed this faux fur version to warm my noggin.  Continue reading “From Russia With Love”
