Dinner Date

SEE LARK! | Dinner Date

The husband and I planned a dinner date on short notice this past weekend. It wasn’t until after the reservation was made that I realized our wedding anniversary was coming up. Therefore, it was our anniversary dinner!  These days I need to be able to get ready quick so I slipped on this shift dress. It’s light and airy…just what is needed on a warm night. Fuel The Fire

I have been loving the workout clothing options at Old Navy.  Oh no, it’s not what you think…I like their workout tees to wear casually, not to actually work out (I joke)!  It’s hard to banish these clever tees to only the gym since they work so well under a blazer and jeans.  Throw on a pair of heels and you are ready for happy hour…er once you are done running that is. Continue reading “Fuel The Fire”

Spotted

SEE LARK! | Spotted

No matter how much I love an all-black look, it’s nice to change up the work outfit with a little pattern.  My love for leopard is well known and I was excited to discover this dress which seemed like a cross between leopard and a cheetah print.  Now would that be considered a leetah or a cheopard? Continue reading “Spotted”

High Low Tough Girl Pieces

Now that we are officially in September, I can’t help but look and search for all things leather. A white leather jacket and an upgrade in the basic leather pumps are a good start.   Continue reading “High Low Tough Girl Pieces”

Eat. Shop. Do.

SEE LARK! | Eat. Shop. Do.

Did the cake pops get your attention?  Good.  Now where can I get some cake pops?! In all seriousness, I can’t believe it’s August already.  I am secretly excited because it means Fall and that means leather jackets, coats, and layers.  Is it wrong to judge the season by how many pieces of clothing and accessories one can wear? Continue reading “Eat. Shop. Do.”

Wait-Worthy Fashion

SEE LARK! | Wait-Worthy Fashion

People say patience is a virtue, but I have always found it hard to put it into practice. This is especially true when it comes news of fashion collaborations or upcoming collections. Getting a preview and then seeing the release date always seems like such a long wait.  In addition to the much anticipated Alexander Wang for H&M announcement, here are three more collections/collaboration pieces that will have you drooling.  Perhaps instead of thinking about virtue, we should be chanting “good things comes to those who wait” to get us through the next couple of months. Continue reading “Wait-Worthy Fashion”

Vroom-Vroom

SEE LARK! | Vroom Vroom

I’ve got a need for speed.  Well…at least speed as expressed through my clothing. I have a soft spot for soft silk shirts, specifically those made by Equipment. Not only are they high quality but its quirky designs, like these little motorcycles, makes it that much more fun to wear. Naturally, motorcycles call for a leather skirt to match and I was more than happy to oblige. Continue reading “Vroom-Vroom”

Trifecta

SEE LARK! | Trifecta

There has been denim on denim, all-black, and other looks that intensify one style element.  Therefore, it seemed only natural to me to try out a triple leopard look. The key to pulling off a trifecta of leopard print is to match the bold with subtle. This sweater from Banana Republic is my bold piece, I just love the mix of leopard spots with stripes. Continue reading “Trifecta”

Fit and Flare

SEE LARK! | Fit and Flare | Banana Republic Dress

I think back to my first year out of college, buying items for the office based on price and what I *thought* was expected of my wardrobe and ended up looking like…well, a collage graduate. If I were to give advice to my 22 year-old self and to those now entering the workforce, it would be to focus on fabric and fit. Continue reading “Fit and Flare”

A Pant for All Seasons

city-1, banana republic, slouchy pants

Wouldn’t you know that after my public proclamation for favoring skirts and dresses that I get into a pants-wearing mood?! Truth be told, I do tend to go for jeans or trousers when I am not at work, anything that allows me to sit cross legged and provides comfort.   On a recent road trip with my hubby, I wore a pair of slouchy pants by Banana Republic.   Continue reading “A Pant for All Seasons”
