Laser Cut Leather

SEE LARK! | Laser Cut Leather Dress

I have a new found appreciation for a-line cuts and faux leather fabric.  It is amazing how this Forever 21 dress I bought last year on a whim has the stretch and give to fit a 6-month pregnant woman!  It did look a little too “baby-doll” for my liking, so I added a blazer which helped give it more sophistication.  It felt like the perfect combination for a (rare) night out on the town. Trench Coat Dress

SEE LARK! | Trench Coat Dress

Lately, the weather in DC has been pretty mild. I decided to take advantage of the good fortune and take my new trench coat dress out for a spin. I love the little details like the flap in the back, front pockets, and rolled up sleeves. It gives a little menswear touch to an otherwise feminine silhouette. Continue reading “Trench Coat Dress”

SEE LARK! | Trifecta

There has been denim on denim, all-black, and other looks that intensify one style element.  Therefore, it seemed only natural to me to try out a triple leopard look. The key to pulling off a trifecta of leopard print is to match the bold with subtle. This sweater from Banana Republic is my bold piece, I just love the mix of leopard spots with stripes. SEE LARK! | Waiting

These days, it seems almost impossible to go out to dinner without making reservations far in advance.  That’s why I appreciate restaurants who leave room for walk-ins so that we can be a little spontaneous from time to time.  Hubby and I went to Red Hen, one of favorite DC restaurants, for a TGIF celebration. The Unapologetic Splurge List

SEE LARK! | The Unapologetic Splurge List

Often times wish lists are compiled of items that we would like to purchase or would like for others to buy for us on special occasions. I thought I would do a play on the wish list and curate items that are breathtaking and unequivocally extravagant. Now, I am not advocating we break the bank. The intent to allow oneself to dream and to not let the price tag constrain the imagination, hence the Unapologetic Splurge List. A Farewell To Winter

SEE LARK! | A Farewell To Winter | Cameo Coat

By this time of year, I am usually searching for warm weather pieces even though we’re still dealing with the remnants of winter. That is why I was surprised to find myself buying a new coat in March. I stumbled upon a really cute shop called Etcetera Etc. during my last trip to Austin. Continue reading “A Farewell To Winter”

Gray Expectations

Gray is one of my favorite colors to wear.  Some may think it drab but I find it to be a great foundational color, creating a canvas for a bold and bright hue.   Continue reading “Gray Expectations”

Color Outside The Lines

My current fashion obsession consists of a pair of yellow satin heels and a black studded clutch.  I wear the two everywhere and for almost any occasion.   Continue reading “Color Outside The Lines”

Afternoon Sparkle

I have this beautiful necklace I had made-to-order through Etsy for my wedding last year. Since then, I have been looking for an opportunity to incorporate it into an everday outfit. A knit shirt and jeans is a great backdrop for a sparkly necklace. Since the outfit is simple, the details will matter. Continue reading “Afternoon Sparkle”

Better Together

[New handbag paired with my favorite animal print shoes]

Some items, like a great handbag or decorative object, can be great on its own, but when paired with a complementary piece, it can be fabulous.  I found this to be true when I discovered some of my favorite things strewn about the house and sitting next to some of my other favorite things (naturally).  Continue reading “Better Together”
