Fuel The Fire

I have been loving the workout clothing options at Old Navy.  Oh no, it’s not what you think…I like their workout tees to wear casually, not to actually work out (I joke)!  It’s hard to banish these clever tees to only the gym since they work so well under a blazer and jeans.  Throw on a pair of heels and you are ready for happy hour…er once you are done running that is. Accentuate The Positive

SEE LARK! | Accentuate The Positive

As I near my ninth month of pregnancy (who are we kidding, it’s really 10 months), I have learned to embrace the baby bump.  It was cute and manageable in the second trimester, but lately I have been feeling large and in charge. My first inclination is to hide in large swaths of fabric.  Then realize I should cherish this time and accentuate my “asset”.  Thank goodness for a basic black tank dress, it’s form-fitting in a slimming color and adding a jacket helps balance out the mid-section. Laced Up

I have really been drawn to lace lately and was dying to find a lace dress to wear for work and play. Versatility is key given that my current wardrobe is on a time limit. This Isabella Oliver dress is perfect with a blazer or leather jacket. I wore it solo for my baby shower and will top it with a sweater when it gets colder. Continue reading “Laced Up”

Spicoli

I am pretty pumped to finally find a pair of comfy jeans to take me through my third trimester. At first, I thought it was pretty fun to wear a bunch of dresses but found it limiting when you just want to go casual. Given that Summer just past, the other challenge I faced was mentally imagining myself in hot skinny jeans – no thank you. Continue reading “Spicoli”

Spotted

No matter how much I love an all-black look, it’s nice to change up the work outfit with a little pattern.  My love for leopard is well known and I was excited to discover this dress which seemed like a cross between leopard and a cheetah print.  Now would that be considered a leetah or a cheopard? Continue reading “Spotted”

Snakeskin

SEE LARK! | Snakeskin

Since I was born in the Year of the Snake, I thought it appropriate to show my “true” self through pattern. I tend to favor solids so wearing a snakeskin print, in pink no doubt, is a change from the everyday. Thankfully, pairing it with trusty gray tones and a denim jacket brings it back to a safe, yet non-boring, place. Continue reading “Snakeskin”

Stars, Stripes and Surprise

SEE LARK! | Stars, Stripes and Surprise

July 4th festivities were last week but I can’t help but carry forward the stars and stripes theme just a wee bit longer. I don’t know if anyone has noticed, but my recent outfit posts have been more on the “blousy” side. That’s because I have an ever-growing mid section.  I am excited to share that hubby and I are expecting our first child in early December! Continue reading “Stars, Stripes and Surprise”
