#TBT Style: Neon Yellow

SEE LARK! |#TBT Style: Neon Yellow

discovered this in my unpublished archives.  It was taken almost exactly a year ago when I had just changed roles within my company and excited to not travel 90% of the time for work.  It’s nice to see that the outfit – a bolt of neon yellow in a traditional v-neck sweater and leather accents in a wool coat – is still relevant this season.  It goes to show you that modern twists to classic pieces really pay off!

Laced Up

SEE LARK! | Laced Up

I have really been drawn to lace lately and was dying to find a lace dress to wear for work and play. Versatility is key given that my current wardrobe is on a time limit. This Isabella Oliver dress is perfect with a blazer or leather jacket. I wore it solo for my baby shower and will top it with a sweater when it gets colder. Continue reading “Laced Up”

Tucked In Top

SEE LARK! | Tucked In Top

I must admit, I was skeptical about tucking a top while pregnant. I didn’t think it would be flattering but as the belly grew and the tops got longer to cover, things started to look moo-moo-ish…and not in a good way. So I thought, “What the heck! let’s give the half tuck a try!” and was surprisingly pleased with the outcome. Continue reading “Tucked In Top”

B Is For Blue

SEE LARK! | B For Blue

Hubby and I had the pleasure meeting up with Mary Kate, our wedding photographer, to help us capture some pre-baby moments together.  I felt compelled to wear blue for the baby boy we expecting.  Therefore, it was an excellent reason to put on my navy blue leather jacket (my favorite piece from the Phillip Lim x Target collaboration) and handbag and sport dark blue nail polish.  My favorite pairing for navy blue is gray and I am amazed at the stretch of this Tart infinity dress (last seen here).  It still fits ladies! Laser Cut Leather

SEE LARK! | Laser Cut Leather Dress

I have a new found appreciation for a-line cuts and faux leather fabric.  It is amazing how this Forever 21 dress I bought last year on a whim has the stretch and give to fit a 6-month pregnant woman!  It did look a little too “baby-doll” for my liking, so I added a blazer which helped give it more sophistication.  It felt like the perfect combination for a (rare) night out on the town. Vroom-Vroom

SEE LARK! | Vroom Vroom

I’ve got a need for speed.  Well…at least speed as expressed through my clothing. I have a soft spot for soft silk shirts, specifically those made by Equipment. Not only are they high quality but its quirky designs, like these little motorcycles, makes it that much more fun to wear. Naturally, motorcycles call for a leather skirt to match and I was more than happy to oblige. Continue reading “Vroom-Vroom”

The Return Of The Statement Pant

SEE LARK! | The Return of the Statement Pant | Floral Pant

I am excited to see florals making a comeback this Spring. Fortunately, I have a stockpile of floral prints from last year that I am able to recycle and reinvent. One of my favorite pieces is this slouchy pant from Zara. Continue reading “The Return Of The Statement Pant”

The Elements of Edge

SEE LARK! | The Elements of Edge

Despite the range of styles and variety that I try to incorporate into my wardrobe, I notice that I tend to gravitate to certain pieces over and over again. Lately, this has been my distressed boyfriend jeans and a leather jacket (any color). In doing so, I realized your go-to pieces can say a lot about one’s personal style. Favorites

lbd, leather jacket

I must admit, I play favorites. I have a favorite lipstick, food, nephew (okay I only have one nephew)…even a favorite spot in my home.  In the city where space is a commodity, I live tall in a three-story house where the stairway between the second and third floor takes first prize.   Continue reading “Favorites”

InstaCool

Did you ever play that “If you had to choose” game when you were little?  As in “if you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?”  I still play this game well into my adulthood but on matters much more important than food and sustenance. When it comes to wardrobe staples (and if I had to choose only one thing), the leather jacket would be the winner, winner, chicken dinner.   Continue reading “InstaCool”
