Utility Player

SEE LARK! | Utility Player

An anorak or utility-style jacket is a great piece for Spring since it provides just enough warmth on a windy day. I scored this beauty on Poshmark a couple of months ago but haven’t had the chance to wear it until this weekend. I made a minor modification with the built-in belt.  It actually belongs on the bottom with a few threads sewn in to keep it in tact.  Since I couldn’t imagine myself wearing a belt (or let it hang unbelted) that low, I snipped it free and brought up to the waist.  It’s perfect with jeans and slacks, but I also think it would look great with a midi or maxi- length dress. New Year And New Hair

SEE LARK! | New Year And New Hair

I am ashamed to admit that I hadn’t had a haircut since July! A trim and an update to my everyday hairstyle was much needed. I jumped on the LOB train as it was enough for a noticeable change and still allowed me to wear it up. New hair calls for new clothes and this flouncy top and skinny jeans I scored on major discount fit the bill. Continue reading “New Year And New Hair”

Laced Up

SEE LARK! | Laced Up

I have really been drawn to lace lately and was dying to find a lace dress to wear for work and play. Versatility is key given that my current wardrobe is on a time limit. This Isabella Oliver dress is perfect with a blazer or leather jacket. I wore it solo for my baby shower and will top it with a sweater when it gets colder. Continue reading “Laced Up”

Is there anything more effortless than a shift dress? The answer is yes, a drop waist shift dress! I found this one by Aijek via Gilt and instantly fell in love with the fishermen print and soft blue color. Continue reading “Gone Fishing”

Red Peplum Skirt

I’m wild about peplum and it started with this red skirt.  Peplum can flatter many figures, particularly a boyish one where it can add curves or accentuates an hour-glass figure by hugging in the waist. Continue reading “Red Peplum Skirt”

Afternoon Sparkle

I have this beautiful necklace I had made-to-order through Etsy for my wedding last year. Since then, I have been looking for an opportunity to incorporate it into an everday outfit. A knit shirt and jeans is a great backdrop for a sparkly necklace. Since the outfit is simple, the details will matter. Continue reading “Afternoon Sparkle”

Better Together

[New handbag paired with my favorite animal print shoes]

Some items, like a great handbag or decorative object, can be great on its own, but when paired with a complementary piece, it can be fabulous.  I found this to be true when I discovered some of my favorite things strewn about the house and sitting next to some of my other favorite things (naturally).  Continue reading “Better Together”

Cable Knit Warmth

Baby, it’s cold outside! With blustery winds and near freezing temperatures, it’s hard to find something to wear that looks put together and provides that much needed warmth. Continue reading “Cable Knit Warmth”
