Laced Up

SEE LARK! | Laced Up

I have really been drawn to lace lately and was dying to find a lace dress to wear for work and play. Versatility is key given that my current wardrobe is on a time limit. This Isabella Oliver dress is perfect with a blazer or leather jacket. I wore it solo for my baby shower and will top it with a sweater when it gets colder. Continue reading “Laced Up”

B Is For Blue

SEE LARK! | B For Blue

Hubby and I had the pleasure meeting up with Mary Kate, our wedding photographer, to help us capture some pre-baby moments together.  I felt compelled to wear blue for the baby boy we expecting.  Therefore, it was an excellent reason to put on my navy blue leather jacket (my favorite piece from the Phillip Lim x Target collaboration) and handbag and sport dark blue nail polish.  My favorite pairing for navy blue is gray and I am amazed at the stretch of this Tart infinity dress (last seen here).  It still fits ladies! Snakeskin

Since I was born in the Year of the Snake, I thought it appropriate to show my “true” self through pattern. I tend to favor solids so wearing a snakeskin print, in pink no doubt, is a change from the everyday. Thankfully, pairing it with trusty gray tones and a denim jacket brings it back to a safe, yet non-boring, place. Continue reading “Snakeskin”

Oh La La

Wearing stripes always makes me feel like a Parisienne. You’d think that horizontal stripes would not be a friend to a growing figure but it can actually be quite flattering if you choose the right shape.  Go for a more form-fitting design and wear it with something that has a defined shape and angles like a blazer or a long sleeve collared shirt. Throw on a red lip and voilà!   Continue reading “Oh La La”

Warrior

Maternity style tends to lean toward the sweet-side of things. Since I like my outfits with a little more edge, I have found that the best way dilute the sugar is through accessories. I love a good gladiator sandal and ones that go up to the knee offer a great contrast to a white shift dress. Continue reading “Warrior”

What’s The Hurry?

SEE LARK! | What's The Hurry?

The typical beach uniform calls for a maxi dress. To keep it from looking dull, turn to interesting cuts like this beauty I found on Etsy.  With a plunging back and deep v-neck front, it feels less muu muu and more sexy. Okay, it was a little too sexy for me so I doubled up coverage with a soft cotton bralette in a matching color. I would normally advocate against letting your underthings show but when you are on an island, anything goes… and it goes slowly. Continue reading “What’s The Hurry?”

Stars, Stripes and Surprise

SEE LARK! | Stars, Stripes and Surprise

July 4th festivities were last week but I can’t help but carry forward the stars and stripes theme just a wee bit longer. I don’t know if anyone has noticed, but my recent outfit posts have been more on the “blousy” side. That’s because I have an ever-growing mid section.  I am excited to share that hubby and I are expecting our first child in early December! Continue reading “Stars, Stripes and Surprise”
